New Book Releases Today

I’m excited to announce my new book releases today with Moody Publishers. Your Wilderness Is Not a Waste: God’s Purpose in Suffering and Struggles can be ordered wherever you buy books, including Amazon, Moody Publishers, Barnes & Noble, Christianbook.com, 10ofthose, and WTSbooks,

The book walks through some of the physical and spiritual wildernesses in the Bible and offers us windows of hope to see how God works in our trials, troubles, and temptations. I’m praying it’s an encouragement for readers!

Here’s the product description from Moody’s website:

The wilderness can be scary—a place full of peril and desolation. And it can feel meaningless. But when we read the Scriptures, the wilderness is also the place God reveals Himself and cares for the people He loves. Pastor Dustin Crowe explores the biblical theme of the wilderness, helping readers counter the harsh, seemingly hopeless seasons in their lives with hope and courage.

The wilderness is often the place where God grows our faith and proves His faithfulness. But to grow, we must be intentional about listening and leaning into His provision. Looking to wilderness stories of the Bible—including Hagar, Moses, David, Eijah, and Jesus—Your Wilderness Is Not a Waste shows who God is and how He’s at work. Readers will find encouragement in His good purposes as they experience God’s sustaining and shaping grace in their lives.

The wilderness has a dual nature, with both threats to our faith and opportunities to grow in faith. As we depend on God, we discover how to worship in our wilderness rather than waste it. Whether you’re in a season of significant transition, spiritual apathy, heartbreak, waiting, or a time of trial and testing, God invites you to come close—to experience His provision and power—Your Wilderness Is Not a Waste shows us how.

The book includes discussion questions and ways to respond at the end of each chapter, as well as a wilderness reading plan at the back of the book. It considers Israel’s time of wandering in the wilderness but it also looks at the stories of Hagar, Moses, David, Elijah, and Jesus. I learned so much writing the book and teaching its contents, and I’m excited for you to get it in your hands.

If you enjoy the book, please leave a rating or review on places like Amazon, Good Reads, or Christianbook.com. You can also share the book with others in person or via social media. For a writer like me, those ratings and shares go a long way in spreading the news of the book!
